Meet The Team

A founding Director of Leap, George’s expertise lies in leading culture change, team development and executive coaching programmes, and in joining up all 3 disciplines to provide his clients with integrated, elegant and highly efficient solutions to their people and change issues.
An engaging facilitator, George is known for his analytical skills, his experience and knowledge base and his ability to turn complex organisational issues into simple practical solutions. He has over 18 years in industry and over 12 years experience in coaching leaders at Board Room level.
He was Principal Consultant at KPMG Consulting in the Information, Communications and Entertainment sectors. He holds an MSc in Occupational Psychology from Cardiff University and is a Chartered Psychologist in occupational and sports psycholgy with the British Psychological Society.

Catherine’s role within Leap Partnership is responsibility for all the administrative processes, from book keeping to diary management. Catherine’s background is predominantly in marketing and prior to joining Leap she worked for Scottish & Newcastle. Outside of work she also enjoys most sports and currently plays golf for Somerset with a handicap of 3.
Whilst George believes he is the boss – we all know who really runs the show! Caro makes sure Leap is supported behind the scenes and together with Catherine she administers the business so that it runs smoothly and effectively for all Leap clients. Caro’s role is to ensure Leap financial systems are set up appropriately, are managed efficiently and are continually updated to be consistently fit for purpose. When she’s not supporting Leap she’s busy running the family household which involves balancing the needs of the business with those of her and George’s 3 lovely children Emily (Oct 03), Sophie (March 05) and Alexander (Oct 06). Consequently Caro’s expertise is in juggling many competing balls all at the same time whilst keeping herself reasonably sane!
Julian

Julian possesses the rare combination of extensive IT management experience, impressive IT technical skills and an accomplished track record of achievement in International sport. A great communicator, with charismatic presence and impressive IT technical skills, Julian is particularly strong at making complex psychological principles simple and relevant. Julian is known for inspiring IT managers to experiment with new ways of working and developing in them winning mindsets towards team working and culture change.
During over 13 years in industry, Julian has held senior Infrastructure leadership positions and account management roles at IBM and Fujitsu. His technical and soft skills ultimately led to him being asked to take Infrastructure responsibility for Fujitsu’s biggest corporate account, British Gas, with a budget of £120 Million. He has competed for both his native Slovenia and for England and Great Britain in Volleyball, World Cup Skiing (Super Giant Slalom) and in Junior Football.
Julian holds a BA in Sports Science and History from St Mary’s college (where he single handedly developed wireless, LAN, and WAN for them in the 1990’s), is fluent in 6 languages and is an entrepreneur in his own right by being the sole UK distributor of the ground breaking Spinalis chair (www.uniquevision.co.uk).

Deborah is a chartered psychologist specialising in assessment and development. Her expertise is in extracting the critical elements of success and developing role profiles and recruitment processes that deliver sustained excellence. Deborah has a track record of integrating best practice across a range of recruitment disciplines including ability testing, use of innate strengths, personality and work style, fit within the organisational context, motivation and engagement, emotional intelligence and control of stress responses. Calling upon an appreciation of positive psychology, the science of individual differences and using ‘best in class’ robust research and assessment methodology, Deborah has helped numerous clients define their recruitment offering, improve their recruitment processes and enjoy the resulting savings in money and time. Deborah is a member of the British Psychological Society & a Principal member of the Association of Business Psychologists, qualified to Level A & Level B Certificates in Occupational Testing and licensed to use a range of psychometrics including MBTI, NEO, Hogan’s HDS, HPI & MVPI, OPQ32, Wave, TalentQ, Firo B and EQi.

Annika Ratcliffe's expertise is as an experienced business ecologist specialising in organisation development and leadership coaching for major organisations. Together with her colleagues, Peter Robertson and Fiona Henderson, she has developed a consolidated approach to managing complex organisational change using the ethology-based concepts of Exploration and Attachment as factors in leading major change. Annika has built the ethological conditions of change resilience - consistency, alignment and trust in technology-led change, cultural change and major organisation change including joint ventures and outsourcing in Europe, North America and Asia. She has wide experience in the banking, insurance and public utility sectors, and has also had senior management responsibility for the delivery management and consulting capability of listed companies.

Fiona Henderson is an occupational psychologist and leadership consultant with significant experience in IT, specialising in organisational change. She has worked closely with her research colleagues, Peter Robertson and Annika Ratcliffe, to develop a consolidated approach to managing complex organisational change using the ethology-based concepts of Exploration and Attachment as factors in leading major change.
Fiona is a highly experienced one-to-one board-level coach and has successfully led many organisation-wide interventions. Her private and public sector experience is wide-ranging and includes financial services, IT infrastructure, the oil and gas sector, water and electricity utilities, heavy engineering, pharmaceuticals and a number of government agencies.
She has worked extensively in the UK, Europe and the United States.

Martin brings expertise in strategy formulation and execution. Martin also has a strong focus on outcomes and a passion for enabling people to understand and overcome barriers to personal and corporate change.
Martin is skilled in decoding motivation and behaviour of managers and in coaching and mentoring people. A Rigorously logical analyst, Martin asks questions that others haven’t thought of and is persistent in seeking answers. He has over ten years management experience in high technology Industries and sixteen years in transformation consulting.
He was Director at KPMG Consulting responsible for Strategy and Innovation within the Information Communication and Entertainment sectors. He holds an MBA from Cranfield University and is a Chartered Management Consultant, a PMI Project Management Professional, and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
Martin’s clients include Cable & Wireless, CAIT, DuPont (EMEA), Hewlett Packard, KPMG (Tax and Forensic Practices), Ryder System Inc, Siemens AG, and the BBC.

Matthew is an expert in preventing failure in change projects and recovering ‘Fractured Projects’ - projects that are failing to deliver to budget, time or quality. He collaborates with organisations (typically from the biomedical and public sectors) to improve the effectiveness of project delivery, enabling them to achieve the anticipated project benefits and a return on investment. He draws upon a pedigree of extensive research and experience in projects across multiple disciplines of the product life cycle, quality management regulatory and standards compliance, coupled with effective delivery of educational programmes to support change activities. Matthew holds qualifications in Change Implementation, Quality Management, Auditing, Project Management, System and Process Implementation and enhancement. He has in depth experience of pharmaceutical regulations ( GMP, GAMP, 21CFR11, EU GMP Annex 11). ISO9000:2000, ISO12207, ISO 13484, ITIL, Sarbanes-Oxley IT controls.

Emma brings expertise in building well being in the workplace. Emma’s background is in occupational and sports psychology, with 15 years consultancy experience. Emma played a lot of sport while completing degrees in occupational psychology and therapeutic studies. She succeeded (most of the time!) to manage both and as a result learnt for herself the power of looking after mind and body. From this point on she has endeavoured to include both aspects in working with all her clients.
Over the years she has enhanced her practice with further qualifications in nutritional therapy and exercise physiology. As a result, she uses a unique blend of mind and body approaches in her work with individuals and groups.
She is well known for her team / group facilitation skills, and works on an on-going basis with several executive and Olympic / professional sports teams.

Sarah specialises in large group facilitation and is well known for her expertise in applying the techniques of appreciative inquiry to team development and organisational change. Her AI skills are part of a wider expertise in post-modern ways of working with individuals and organisations. Working with Sarah means working with organisational ‘stories’ or accounts of action, engaging with the power of metaphor and positive emotions, identifying patterns of action and interaction, focussing on the fatefulness of language, and creating change through connection, talk and imagination. Her clients include: Aliaxis Group, BAA, Halliburton, DWP, Dfes, VectorAreospace, KPMG, Health and Local Government agencies, Pfizer, Dublin City University.
Sarah is a chartered occupational psychologist, an associated fellow of the British Psychological Society and a Founding member of the Association of Business Psychologists. She regularly presents papers at national conferences is an author of several books and articles. She has lectured at post graduate level and is currently a faculty member at the CIPD.

David specialises in the design, delivery and evaluation of high impact leadership and team development programmes. He has also designed and led a wide array of HR programmes including performance management, recruitment, selection and assessment, coaching and mentoring, formal and informal discipline and absence management. He has acquired his knowldege and expertise as a result of holding several Management roles in Learning and Development and in HR with a well known national charity, several NHS trusts, a local authority and two international engineering companie. His current clients include GE Energy, the East of England Trading Standards Association and Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex County Councils. David holds an MEd in Training & Development from the University of Sheffield, is a chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and is qualified to Level B Plus in psychological assessment with the British Psychological Society (BPS).
